Racing Jaguars Succeed in First League Meet

Our racing Jags are back at it again! Two weeks ago they went to Rohr park in Sweet Water to compete at Southbay invitational. The girls ran a 2.5 mile course while the boys run a 3.1 mile course. Varsity girls got 4th place out of 23 teams with 2 individual Medalists. Congrats Rachel Favela for 13th place and Madeline Marron for 26th! Our Varsity boys had one medalist; congrats to Luis Gonzales on 22nd place. JV boys placed 4th out of 14 teams with outstanding performances by Nathan Paz who placed 6th and Julio Cardenas at 12th. Good job guys! While the girls only had a varsity and jv race, the boys had an additional Frosh/Soph race. They did a great job coming in 4th out of 20 teams! Leading the team we had Julian Alvarez placing 7th, Dylan Rumble at 14th, and Alejandro Cuevas at 16th. Overall the Jags made sure everyone heard their voice at the meet! This past Friday, the jags raced again at Kit Carson for their first league meet. JV girls placed 3rd out of 5, Varsity Girls 2nd out of 5 (only losing by a mere 6 points!), Varsity boys 4th out of 5, and JV boys 1st out of 5! Runners in the top ten include Reese Brannan 6th/42 (JV girls), Madeline Marron 3rd/34 (Varsity), Rachel Favela 5th/34 (Varsity), Luis Gonzalez 8th/52 (Varsity), Daniel Maldonado 2/54 (JV), Jorge Montiel 3/54 (JV), Teddy Ford 4/54 (JV), Kevin Collazo 5/54 (JV), Pablo Benitez 8/54 (JV).
