DIY Halloween Decorations

As the temperature drops, and the leaves fall, the holidays we all know and love begin to approach. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas or whatever it is that you celebrate. For the kind of people that are creative and like to go all out, the holidays are perfect to express artistic abilities. Halloween is right around the corner, so it’s officially spooky season. There are a lot of easy-to-make decorations to keep you busy and make make your home look festive look festive. The special thing about halloween is that decorations can range from cute and fun to terrifying. So here are 5 economic and easy-to-make decorations that are all of the above, that are all of the above.

  • Body Bags: This is a good display to terrorize neighbors. The items needed for this are the following: trash bags, duct tape, stuffing, fake blood and rope.

-Start by filling up trash bags with stuffing.

-Use duct tape to shape legs and head and to keep the bags closed.

-Make 3 “bodies”

-Tie them together from the feet with rope.

-Hang them from the branch of a tree.

-Add fake blood for horrifying effect!

  • Ghost Line: This craft is simple and festive for halloween parties. The items necessary are: string, white tissue paper, a black marker, hot glue and lollipops.

-To start, you make the little ghosts by wrapping tissue paper around a lollipop and hot gluing** it innplace.

-Next you draw on the eyes.

-Finally you tie the ghosts on the string.

  • Jack-O-Lantern Cups: These are cute house decor to impress visitors.  All you need is orange plastic cups, a black marker and battery powered candles.

-First you decorate the cups with jack-o-lantern faces.

-Then you place the candles inside the upside down cups.

-First you draw a bat on a black paper. You can modify it to your liking.

-Then you cut it out and use it as a stencil to trace more.

-Trace and cut as many bats as you want!

-Finally, display as you please. You can hang them up, glue them on other papers, use them for door decor etc.

  • Lonely Girl: This display is good to scare trick-or-treaters away. It involves: Wig, Fake hands and feet, a dress, and pillow fluff (or any stuffing available)

-To begin you create a human figure with stuffing inside a bag.

-You put a dress on the bag and position it kneeling down.

-Next you add the wig, hands and feet!

-Finally, adjust to make it look realistic and add a little blood (for example ketchup)
