Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure

The Walk to End Breast Cancer was held on Sunday November 4th at Balboa Park. Ms. Meyers Physiology class attended this walk to support the cause. There were more than 9,000 people who took part in the walk. Komen San Diego Race for the Cure raised $927,665.81 which surpassed their goal of $915,00. It was a walk of either one mile or 5k. The participants had the option to choose how long they wanted to walk. Everyone had a great time participating in this walk and as well had a great experience giving their support.

Diego County and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure
breast cancer”
Promise: “The Susan G. Komen promise: to save lives and end breast cancer
forever by empowering people, ensuring quality care for all and energizing
science to find the cures.”
Bold Goal: “Susan G. Komen set a Bold Goal to reduce the current number of
breast cancer deaths by 50 percent in the U.S. by 2026.”
